This is because Chinese is used almost exclusively outside of Taiwan’s tourist areas, so even if you study them at the same time, you won’t have many opportunities to output your knowledge.





Of course, there are English learners in Taiwan, so there are ways such as participating in social gatherings with them, but this is limited to big cities, and there are none in rural areas.





When I was studying abroad, I brought English reference books from Japan and tried to study English as well.





However, I had my hands full with studying Chinese, so I ended up only going to language exchange meetings.





So what I can say is that it is difficult to study English and Chinese unless you are prepared to do so.

This is due to the introduction of bilingual education, which the government has set as a goal for 2030.

For this reason, I believe that Chinese should be the first language to learn in Taiwan.

It is called Wenzao University, and it has 9,000 students who can study a wide range of languages including English, German, and French.

If you can speak English and Chinese at the university level, I think you have the option to consider it.
