【高雄第一家刀削麵】Recommended Beef Noodles in Kaohsiung Part 3

There are many beef noodle stores in Kaohsiung, but sometimes the soup is good but the noodles are not.





Since you are paying for the food, why not try beef rice noodles with good noodles?





The place I’m going to introduce here is a beef noodle restaurant that uses homemade sword-shaped rice noodles and boasts a chewy texture.





If you’ve never been impressed by beef rice noodles before, you’re sure to be impressed!





Let’s have a look at the restaurant.

I have been on a working holiday in Kaohsiung for a year since February 2020. Now I am writing a blog based on that experience.

What is Kaohsiung First Family Sword Rice Noodles?

It is a beef rice noodle store with a long history, located about a five-minute walk from Meilidao Station in the center of Kaohsiung.





The noodles in this restaurant are made of sword-shaped noodles, different from the common noodles, so you can enjoy the texture of the noodles.





The menu is extensive and delicious, making this restaurant very popular among the citizens.





They’re closed on weekends, so try to go on a weekday!

The sign with red letters on a yellow background stands out well in the city.





The color scheme of this sign is similar to that of the famous hamburger store (lol).





There is a kitchen at the entrance, and the food is cooked to order, so you can enjoy the freshest food.





Seating is in the back, so you can relax even when the weather is bad.

Recommended menu

The shopkeeper recommended the Tomato Beef Noodles.





I was surprised for a moment because I had never seen it in any other restaurant.





They also have dumplings, soup, and vegetables.

How to order and what to look out for

Fill out the order form on the table with the items you want to order, your seat number, and the total amount, and hand it to the waiter.





You can pay first or later, but I think it’s easier to pay first.





Only cash was accepted for payment.

There is a special place for dishes, so you can pick them up yourself.

A Taste of Food

I plucked up the courage to order the Tomato Beef Noodles, but they were sold out, so I opted for the Beef Mian without Soup and Taiwanese Style Kimchi!

The beef noodles have a delicious flavor with thick noodles and good texture.





The ingredients include green onions, lettuce and beef.





The beef was tender and the soup had just the right amount of flavor.





The Taiwanese style kimchi tasted sweet and was a new taste for me.





I am used to spicy kimchi, so I found it not so good.





I ordered two dishes, but if you are a man, you may want to order one more.
