Hello everyone! I’m @olivertomolife and I’ve studied abroad in Kaohsiung!
If you’re living in Kaohsiung and suddenly have a craving for Indian curry, you’re in the right place!
This time, I’d like to tell you about a special place for you.
Have you ever heard of Rawat Indian kitchen in Kaohsiung City?
The curries made by experienced Indian chefs are of such a high level that they compete for the top spot in Kaohsiung!
If you are a curry lover, be sure to read through to the end.
I experienced a working holiday in Kaohsiung for a year from February 2020. Currently, I am writing a blog based on that experience.
By reading this post, you’ll be on your way to getting some great curry in Kaohsiung!
What is Rawat Indian kitchen?
Rawat Indian kitchen is an Indian curry restaurant located near the 85 Tower in Kaohsiung.
From the signboard, you can guess that the restaurant has been loved by the citizens for a long time.
The authentic curry prepared by the Indian chef tastes just like being in India!
It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but you can’t go wrong with the taste, so why not give it a try?
Exterior of the store
The store is located about five minutes away from Sanduo shopping District Station.
The 85 Tower, the tallest building in southern Taiwan, and the Kaohsiung City Library are nearby, making it a good location for sightseeing.
This is the signboard of the restaurant, but it doesn’t look Indian at all… (laughs)
The menu is posted outside, so you can see what kind of food is available.
The atmosphere inside the restaurant
The walls of the restaurant are covered with pictures of India and information about spices.
There is also Indian music and videos playing, making you feel like you are in India!
The restaurant is cleaned well, so you can enjoy your meal in a good mood.
The clientele range from young people to families, so you can feel free to eat here.
Recommended menu
There are many kinds of curry, but I recommend the chicken curry!
The menu is written in both Chinese and English.
There are also keema curry and mutton curry.
They also have the recently popular chicken biryani, which is cooked rice!
How to Order and Points to Note
You can place your order directly with the waitress.
The bill is paid in cash only, so don’t forget to pay later.
Taste of the food
I ordered chicken curry and naan!
I was a little disappointed that there was no refill of naan like in Japan.
But the spicy curry was so good!
The spices are carefully selected from a wide variety, so you can taste the condensed flavor.
I think the amount of curry is small for a man, so I think it’s better to order other dishes.
Conclusion
- If you live in Kaohsiung, you should visit this restaurant at least once.
