What are the characteristics of pubs in Taiwan?

Taiwan pub

Pubs in Taiwan are usually in a format similar to that of the United States or England.

In Taipei, there are a variety of pubs, including those affiliated with world-famous pubs and those run by foreigners.

Basically, all the stores have foreign sports on and lots of liquor bottles on display.

In Kaohsiung, on the other hand, it is better to go to the stores on the weekends to enjoy the atmosphere, as there is often hardly anyone there except on weekends.

I have the impression that most of the bars in Kaohsiung are clustered in Judangan and Yanchengpu.

Three recommended pubs in Kaohsiung

This is a Canadian-style pub located a short distance away from the Arena Station, and it serves delicious pizza.

3 Niujin Bar and Restaurant

Are Taiwanese people less likely to drink alcohol?

Taiwan pub

As you all know, Taiwan is a motorcycle society.

As a result, the culture seems to be less in the habit of drinking alcohol.

In fact, my Taiwanese friends don’t drink much either.

Personally, I felt that many people drink alcohol at home instead of outside.

I think you can save money that way.

It’s interesting because the culture is the opposite of what we have in Japan!

Extra: What is a Taiwanese style tavern (hot stir-fry)?

Taiwan pub

Hot Chili is an izakaya where you can enjoy Taiwanese home-style food, mainly seafood, meat, and vegetable dishes.

Many places charge $100 Taiwan dollars for a single menu item, which makes them popular among citizens.

All restaurants serve Taiwanese beer, and in some cases, rice is free.

However, there are some places that rip you off, so be careful.

2 Le First Hot Fried Fish-Shaped Cakes

This restaurant is located near the Central Park and is like a Japanese izakaya.

The portions are large, so it’s better to go with more than one person.

And the service from the staff was great!
