Hello everyone! I’m @olivertomolife and I’ve studied abroad in Kaohsiung!





I think that Taiwanese food, while very tasty, often uses a lot of oil.





Even in Kaohsiung, where I lived, there were many dishes that were very oily.





But the Da Yuen Huan Duck Noodles which I’m going to introduce is popular for its healthy duck dishes!





I’d like to introduce the restaurant and its signature dish, duck rice noodles.





I’ll tell you about the restaurant and its signature dish, duck rice noodles, which are so refreshing that you can eat them even when you don’t have an appetite.

I experienced a working holiday in Kaohsiung for a year starting February 2020. Now I am writing a blog based on that experience.

What is Da Yuen Huan Duck Noodles?

Da Yuen Huan Duck noodles is a restaurant specializing in duck meat, located right outside Exit 1 of Meilidao Station.





It is so close to the station that it takes only 3 seconds to get there, and you can feel the atmosphere of Kaohsiung.





They have a wide variety of dishes to choose from, including whole roasted duck and duck noodles!





Also, the restaurant has a very fast turnover, so you won’t have to wait long for your meal.





If you are in the mood for delicious duck meat, you should definitely go there!

The store look like

The store, which has an open feel, has no windows and is built with a simple roof.





This is a mainstream building construction in Taiwan, and when it rains, the rain might come in.





It is crowded during lunch time, but the flow is fast, so there is no need to worry.





Meals are available for takeaway and inside.





There are about 15 seats, so you will have plenty of room.

I highly recommend their signature dish, the duck noodle!





They also have other items such as sliced duck meat and soup.

How to Order and Points to Note

At the entrance of the restaurant, there is a menu list that you can fill out and give to the staff.





Don’t forget to indicate whether you want to eat in or take out.





Only cash is accepted for payment, and it is paid afterwards, so it is easier to remember the amount.

Taste of the food

I ordered a small size of their signature dish, duck rice noodles without soup!





The price is only NT$65, which is also very reasonable.





The noodles look simple enough, with duck meat and scallions on top, but they look good!





When I tried it, I found that the noodles were thin and a little soft, but tasted even better with the duck meat.

If I were to compare it to a Japanese dish, it would taste like modestly flavored mazesoba.





The taste is surprisingly refreshing, so it is recommended for those who have no appetite.





The duck meat was a little on the bone, so please be careful when eating it.





The soup comes free of charge, but it was so hot that I struggled to drink it…





It was summer, and hot soup is hell…





Taiwanese people always surprise me by drinking hot soup without hesitation even in summer.
