In this article, I’d like to introduce you to Bondi Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Sydney.

I experienced studying abroad in Sydney for a year starting in 2018. Now I am writing a blog about my experience.

What is Bondi Beach?

Bondi Beach is a beach that can be reached in about 40 minutes from the center of Sydney, and since it is easily accessible from the city, it attracts many people.




Near the beach, there are cafes, restaurants, and even souvenir stores!




And no matter what season it is, Bondi Beach is a place that many people visit.




The area of the beach has many luxury apartments and rich people live there.




And the view from the beach is amazing, so go for it!

3 Attractions of Bondi Beach

For those of you who want to know what’s so special about the beach, I’ll tell you three things!

1 The scenery is beautiful

What can I say? The view from the beach is beautiful!




No matter where you take your picture from, you’ll get a great shot!




If you take pictures from a high place, you can see how wide the beach is.

2 Sculpture by the Sea

This event is an outdoor museum held every October on the boardwalk from Bondi Beach to Tamarama Beach.




You can enjoy the works of various unique sculptors for free, even if you are not interested in art!

3 Cafes and gelato near the beach

There are many stylish cafes and dessert stores near Bondi Beach.




Here are some of my recommendations.

1 Heart Cafe

The first one I’d like to introduce is Heart Cafe, located right near Bondi Beach.




At this cafe, you can enjoy a cup of coffee in a modern atmosphere.

2 Gelato Messina Bondi

Gelato Messina Bondi is a popular gelato store located a short walk from the beach, and there is always a line out the door!




There are a whopping 40 different kinds of gelato to choose from, so you can choose your favorite combination.

Points to note on the beach

There are two major points of caution, so let’s go over them!

1 Ultraviolet rays

Ultraviolet rays in Australia are very strong.




In fact, due to global warming, the ozone layer in Australia has been depleted, making it more susceptible to UV rays.




The sun is especially strong on the beach.




Therefore, it is recommended that you apply sunscreen before going to the beach.




In Australia, you can easily buy sunscreen at supermarkets, so buy some.




You should also buy some sunglasses to protect your eyes from the UV rays for extra protection!

2 Sharks

Bondi Beach is rich in nature and sometimes sharks come to the beach.




There are nets put up to prevent people from being harmed, but if a shark comes near the nets, the lifesavers are instructed.




If you encounter such a situation, please follow the instructions.
