3 Reasons Why I Recommend Manly Beach

Manly beach

Here are three reasons why I recommend Manly Beach out of all the beaches in Sydney.

1 Easy access from the city

manly beach

Manly Beach is an easily accessible beach, only 30 minutes away from the ferry terminal at Circular Quay.

It is also easy to get to, as there is no need to change ferries.

Bondi Beach, on the other hand, takes a train and a bus from the city, which can take up to an hour to arrive.

In this respect, I can recommend Manly Beach because it is a smooth ride.

2 Museums where you can enjoy art

manly beach museum

The Manly Art Gallery & Museum, located in Manly Beach, is a historic museum that opened in 1930.

Inside the museum, there are many brilliant ceramics and original paintings on display.

Admission is free, so why not enjoy the art at your leisure?

There are also photos of Manly Beach on display that will give you a sense of the changing times, so be sure to visit!

3 A mecca for surfers

manly surfing

Manly Beach is known as one of the most famous surfing beaches in Australia.

In 1964, the first world surfing competition was held here.

The waves are not as rough as Bondi Beach, so beginners can try their hand at surfing!

Surfing lessons are also offered at any time, so enjoy the marine sport!

What is Manly Beach?

manly beach

Manly Beach is located in the northern part of Sydney and consists of three locations: Queenscliff, North Stain, and South Stain.

There are many theories about the origin of the beach’s name, but it is said to have been named by a British soldier who saw the indigenous people who lived there.

It is said that the soldier was inspired by the masculinity of the natives.

There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, and bars around the beach.

Three things to watch out for at Manly Beach

manly caution

1 Beware of seagulls in the sky

manly

There are a lot of seagulls on Manly Beach.

They are always looking for human food, so if you are eating on the beach, watch out for them above you.

They will take your food while you are looking elsewhere, so be alert at all times.

Also, seagulls poop in the sky, so if you are unlucky, you may get caught.

Let’s hope the worst doesn’t happen to you.

2 Wear sunscreen

Beaches in Australia have a lot of sunshine and UV rays.

The sun at Manly Beach is also very strong, so sunscreen and sunglasses are essential items to take with you.

There are many sunscreens available in Australia, so make sure you take advantage of them.

3 No drinking on the beach

Beaches in Australia are places where alcohol is not allowed.

There are some exceptions, but if the police find you, you can be fined $200 or more.

Also, it is dangerous to go into the ocean after drinking, so drink alcohol only after you have enjoyed the beach.
