沐川咖哩 is a curry restaurant located about 5 minutes away from exit 5 of Meilidao Station.

It is highly rated on Google maps and attracts many customers at lunch time!

About half of the customers seem to buy take-out.

From the look of the store’s sign, it seems that they have been in business for more than 10 years.

It’s close to the train station, so you should definitely give it a try!

沐川咖哩
  • Address: No. 123, Nanhua Road, Xinxing District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan 800
  • Business hours: Monday-Saturday 11:00am – 2:30pm, 5:00pm – 8:30pm
  • Closed: Sunday

Appearance of the restaurant

The yellow signboard marks the kitchen outside, and you can smell the delicious aroma of curry when you walk by.

The employees have a sense of familiar solidarity, and the turnover is quick, so you won’t have to wait too long.

By the way, yellow and red have the power to attract people!

So McDonald’s and KFC use those signs to take advantage of that characteristic. lol

Inside the store

The deep interior of the restaurant has many tables, so you can sit at your leisure.

The simple white wallpaper would make for a relaxing dining experience.

There were also other TVs provided.

And air conditioning is also provided, so even in the summer, no worries!

Recommended menu

Curry with pork cutlet seems to be recommended.

There are many other kinds of curry such as vegetable curry and beef curry!

How to Order and Points to Note

There is an order form on the table, so fill it out and hand it to the waiter.

The bill is payable in advance and only cash is accepted.

Taste of the food

Kaohsiung curry

I ordered the curry with pork cutlet!

The price was $90 Taiwanese dollars.

It looks different from the Japanese one lol.

The curry is topped with rice, carrots, green peas, and pork cutlet.

Dishes are self-service.

When you try it, you will find that it is lightly seasoned and not cloying.

It’s got that old-fashioned, homey curry flavor that makes you feel nostalgic!

Free miso soup is available, but it is a bit bland.

Still, the combination of curry and miso soup is an interesting one!

I don’t think they go together very well, but I guess this is the Taiwanese way lol.

If you ever get the urge for some home-style curry, this is the place to go!

Summary

Taiwan curry
  • 5 minute walk from Meilidao Station.
  • Curry has a rustic taste
  • Reasonably priced meals

This is a summary of the recommended curry restaurant in Kaohsiung, 沐川咖哩!

There are other delicious curry restaurants in Kaohsiung, and we will introduce them from time to time.
