Hello everyone! I’m @olivertomolife and I’ve studied abroad in Kaohsiung!
When it comes to Kaohsiung, there are many night markets, but sometimes sure there are some people who don’t know where to go.
When I first came to Kaohsiung, I didn’t know where to go.
So this time, I’m going to introduce you to five night markets I’d like to recommend in Kaohsiung!
If you want to enjoy dinner in Kaohsiung, this is a must-see!
I experienced a working holiday in Kaohsiung for one year from February 2020. Currently, I am writing a blog based on that experience.
By reading this article, you’ll get to know about Kaohsiung’s night markets!
Five of the best night markets in Kaohsiung!
1 Ruifeng Night Market
This night market, a five-minute walk from the Dome Station, is so famous in Kaohsiung that it is known all over Taiwan.
It is a favorite night market for Kaohsiung residents, with affordable prices and a wide variety of food.
I especially recommend the Sweet potato balls, a classic sweet potato snack that is rolled up and deep fried!
I used to buy them every time because they were cheap and plentiful.
There are also Spanish, Italian, and other foreign cuisines at the night market, so I’m sure you’ll never get bored here!
2 Jianguo Night Market
Located in the Pier-2 area, this night market is a little out of the way and has the rarity of being open only on Saturdays.
Although small in scale, this night market is bustling with locals.
It is also famous as a night market for the students of Zhongshan University, located nearby.
The grilled chicken and hot pot dishes are delicious and highly recommended!
There are many parks around, so it is a great place to eat.
3 Xingzhong Night Market
This is a popular night market for locals, located about a five-minute walk from Sanduo Station.
There are so many stalls in the evening that it’s hard to choose one every time (lol).
It is a night market where you cannot eat calmly because the roads are not blocked.
Therefore, many people buy food to take home.
There are lots of good mutton shop here, so I highly recommend it!
4 Guanghua Night Market
This night market is located in a straight line from Sanduo shopping District, and is difficult to get to without a motorcycle.
It is a night market where tourists are fairly rare and locals often eat here.
There is a lot of motorcycle traffic, so please be careful.
The prices are cheap and there are many good restaurants!
There is also a restaurant that serves delicious beef noodles.
5 Nanhua Tourism Business Circle
This night market is conveniently located just a minute’s walk from Meilidao Station, but it is not a very famous place.
However, you will often see people of Southeast Asian descent here, as clothing for women is surprisingly cheap.
The night market is about a five-minute walk away, and the motorcycle traffic is very heavy, so be careful.
The best place to eat at this night market is the beef noodle restaurant, where you can enjoy the resilient texture of the sword-shaped rice noodles.
