Buy a prepaid sim card before you go to Australia!

Australia sim card

This is the method I used, and I will explain why you should buy a prepaid sim card in advance.

The reason is that if you sign up for a sim card at the airport upon arrival, you may end up buying one without comparing plans.

Also, if it is your first day abroad and you are not confident in your language skills, you may not understand the contract.

To avoid this, it is a good idea to buy a sim card in advance.

You can find them on Amazon.

Features of the three major Australian telecommunications companies

Australia mobile phone

1 Vodafone

Vodafone used to be a Japanese company and is a major telecommunications company in Australia.

One of the features of this company is that you can use the Internet at a low speed even if you exceed the specified amount.

I used to use this company, but there were few options, and I had a bit of trouble with an Indian operator when I cancelled my contract.

2 Telstra

Telstra used to be a state-owned company, so they have a lot of base stations.

The monthly traffic is the highest and the communication speed is stable.

The coverage is the best, so it is recommended for those who go to farms and other suburbs.

How to make a sim card contract

Australia cellphone

First of all, you need to unlock your sim before you leave your country.

If your phone is locked, you will not be able to use your phone with other carriers.

Be sure to check the status.

After unlocking your phone, choose your favorite carrier and go to the store.

You will need to bring your passport and the address where you will be staying.

Tell the clerk, “I want to buy a simcard.

After that, you can follow the process to sign the contract.

Many stores will replace the sim card for you, so be sure to ask them to do so.

I recommend that you open a bank account first, as the money will be automatically deducted from your bank account.

You can learn more about opening a bank account in the following article.

Personally, I recommend Optus.

I used to use vodafone, but now I think Optus is better because it has a cheaper price plan and more traffic.

And if you’re a student, you can even use it for less!

However, if you exceed the communication fee, you will have to pay extra.

Try to choose the company you like.
