【劉江便當】Kaohsiung Only? The best chicken rice in Meilidao!

Hello everyone! I’m @olivertomolife and I’ve studied abroad in Kaohsiung!





Kaohsiung, Taiwan has a lot of great bento shops, but I’ve finally found mine!





The restaurant I’m going to introduce to you, Liujiang Bento, is only in Kaohsiung and serves very delicious food.





It’s a kind of local eatery, so not many tourists go there, making it a hole-in-the-wall gastronomic spot in Kaohsiung.





I’ll let you know what I think when I actually get there!

What is 劉江便當?

劉江便當 is a local lunchbox store that operates six stores in Kaohsiung.





The one I used to frequent was located near exit 6 of Meilidao Station, and it was always full of customers!





Outside the store, you can see the chicken being prepared and the ingredients being prepared.





Seems to be a family business, and we saw some great teamwork going on!

Atmosphere of the store

The signboard is large, but the store is small.





There are tables and chairs at the entrance, and the store turns quickly, so it is a good place to go if you want to grab a quick meal.





There is also free soup at the entrance, which you can drink on your own.

Recommended menu

The signature dish on the menu, chicken rice with fried chicken and rice, is a must-try!





It is a set meal of fried chicken and rice, and comes with a free side dish that changes daily.





Other set meals such as fried rice and curry are also available, and come with side dishes.

How to order and points to note

There is a counter at the back of the restaurant, so you can order there.





The menu is on the wall, so you can also order by pointing.





The bill is paid in cash only, and the food is served immediately.

Taste of the food

I ordered the chicken rice dish!





The price is very reasonable at $75 Taiwan Dollars.





The chicken was crispy and the saucy sauciness of the sauces could be tasted.





It tastes twice as good with rice!





The side dishes also change daily, so you will never get bored with your meal.
