Hello everyone. I’m @olivertomolife and I’ve studied abroad in Kaohsiung!
Did you know that Taiwan has some of the best dried noodles in the world?
This time, I’d like to introduce you to Tseng dry noodles, which is one of the most popular noodles in Taiwan!
A friend of mine sent me some and I’d like to introduce the product to those who would like to try it.
I experienced a working holiday in Kaohsiung for a year starting February 2020. Now I am writing a blog based on that experience.
By reading this post, you’ll get to know about Taiwan’s dried noodles!
Impressions of Tseng dry noodles sesame flavor
Let’s unpack the bag.
First, there is a compressed bag containing the noodles and two kinds of sauce.
The recipe is explained below.
Here’s the finished product after boiling the noodles and serving!
I overcooked the eggs a bit…
I really wanted to take a picture with the yellow yolk, but it’s okay.
In my opinion, the chewy noodles and the savory sesame sauce are the best!
It’s a mixture of rice noodles that you can’t find in Japan, and it is indeed a high quality dried noodle.
When I used to live in Taiwan, I avoided it because it was more expensive than other instant noodles, but I regret that I should have tried it.
What is Tseng dry noodles Sesame flavor?
This product is a sesame flavored version of the dry noodles series called Tseng dry noodles, which is widely known in Taiwan.
This is a noodle food supervised by a Taiwanese celebrity named Zeng Guo Cheng.
When the product was first sold in 2015, it recorded sales of 30 million yen and now has sales of over 200 million yen.
Zeng Guo Cheng has invested in various businesses and succeeded in this food business after many failures.
This is one of the products in the series and is characterized by its mild taste.
The noodles are carefully selected for their elasticity and white sesame seeds are used for the sauce, so you can feel the taste of the ingredients.
How to cook the product
It’s very easy to cook!
First, prepare 900ml of water in a pot and bring it to a boil.
Once the water is boiling, add the noodles and stir.
Once the noodles are separated, boil them over medium heat for 4.5 to 5.5 minutes.
Choose a time based on how hard you like your noodles.
While the noodles are boiling, prepare a bowl and add the two kinds of sauce that come with it.
The sesame sauce is hardened, so be sure to rub it out before adding it.
After adding the sauce, pour 30ml of hot water into the bowl and stir.
This hot water can be the same water you used to finish boiling the noodles.
Finally, place the noodles in the bowl and you’re done!
Boiled noodles stick together and are difficult to separate, so it may be easier to separate them if you wash them in warm water to remove the slime.
If you like, you can top it with fried egg or green onion.
Nutritional value of products
It is made of wheat, salt, soybeans, and sugar.
Be sure to discard the desiccant on the back of the noodles.
